How to use the decision wheel

The default options are five common ways to handle a hard call: Do it, Skip it, Wait an hour, Ask a friend, Sleep on it. Spin once and follow the wheel's advice.

Or replace them with the actual choices in front of you — Pizza vs Tacos vs Sushi, or Apply for the job vs Stay vs Wait six months.

Why outsourcing decisions to a wheel works

There is a well-known mental trick: pretend you have already decided, and notice how you feel. A wheel does the same thing in physical form. The instant the result lands, you know whether you are relieved or disappointed — and that emotion is your real answer.

For low-stakes choices (lunch, movie, route home) the wheel is also genuinely useful: it removes 10 minutes of waffling and gets you back to enjoying the day.

When NOT to use a decision wheel

For major life choices — a job offer, a relationship, big financial moves — a wheel is not a substitute for thinking. Use it for the small stuff so the big stuff has more of your attention.

If you keep re-spinning until you get the answer you want, you have already decided. Stop spinning and trust your gut.
